Opening (5 min)
Welcome everyone and briefly introduce the topic: biblical meekness—power under control.
Open with prayer, asking God for insight and a spirit of humility.
Icebreaker (5 min)
Ask: “Share about a time you could have ‘won’ an argument or situation, but chose not to. How did that feel?”
Scripture Reading (5 min)
Read aloud: Matthew 5:5 (NIV):
“Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.”
Sermon Recap (5 min)
Summarize: Meekness isn’t weakness; it’s strength under control. Jesus, David, and Joseph showed restraint and humility, trusting God with outcomes.
Discussion Questions (30 min)
What does “meekness” mean to you? How is it different from weakness?
How did Jesus demonstrate meekness in His life and ministry?

Discuss a time when you saw or practiced ‘power under control’—either at work, home, or church.
Why is it hard to trust God with the results when we choose humility or restraint?

Ask: “Where in your life right now do you need God’s help to show meekness?”
Invite each person to share one area they want to grow in controlled strength this week.

Close by inviting group members to pray for one another, asking God for courage, humility, and the wisdom to use their strength for good.
